The Premise

On the twelfth hour of the first day of October, 1989, forty three women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began.

Sir Reginald Hargreeves, an eccentric billionaire, set out to buy as many of these extraordinary children as he could. He would return home with seven babies and create the Umbrella Academy in the hopes that he could successfully train his adopted sons and daughters to be superheroes.

As children, they were everywhere, fighting crime and thwarting supervillains. They were celebrities in their own right, signing autographs, greeting screaming fans. They had their own action figures, comic books, t-shirts.

Over the years, they drifted apart, going their own way, leaving Reginald and the Academy behind. Good memories form childhood were few and far between. The siblings longed for freedom and distance from their father.

Reginald had predicted that the world as we know it would cease to exist sometime in the near future. If he played his cards right, he thought that his seven children could grow up to stop the apocalypse from ever happening.

Unfortunately, the Hargreeves siblings didn’t get there in time. As the world crumbled around them, as chunks of the moon fell to earth, they linked hands and Five used his ability to time travel, to take them back to a time before Vanya’s powers could erupt like a volcano, destroying everything in her path.

The Hargreeves’ found themselves in the past. Three months before the apocalypse, to be exact. This was their moment, the only do-over they would be given. They remembered everything that had happened to cause the end of civilization, but the rest of the world didn’t. The rest of the world remained oblivious.

Now, as they try to help Vanya control her abilities and keep the world safe, the thirty six other children are venturing out of the shadows. An unknown force is pulling them into The City.

Whether they will help or hinder the Hargreeves’ mission remains to be seen.
